Merry Laurel Weddings is seeking two DJs in the Elk County, PA area and the Greater Pittsburgh areas.

Qualifications:

Professionalism: Must remain professional in terms of language, dress, and actions.

Outgoing: Must have outgoing personality, and be able to work a crowd.

Public Speaking: Ability to speak in front of a crowd to announce bridal party and other announcements (dinner, cake cutting, dances).  All announcements will be made via microphone.

Microphone Experience:  Though we can train you on how to use a microphone, it is critical that you understand how to use a microphone correctly so the crowd can clearly hear and understand you.

Leadership: Ability to coordinate the reception based on the plan.  Including but not limited to informing photographer of upcoming events, finding bride and groom to keep agenda on schedule, coordinating with the bar to have dollar dance shots ready.  The DJ essentially becomes a the leader and coordinator at the reception.

Promptness:  The candidate must be prompt in getting back to Merry Laurel, brides, and timing at the wedding.  The DJ should arrive early to weddings for proper set-up.  Getting back to Merry Laurel weddings on prospective weddings is essential because a sale can be made or broken from taking too long to confirm with a potential client.

Technical Skills:  Basic technical skills are required, but all can be easily learned.  This includes but is not limited to: Microsoft Word, Word Press, PCDJ, I-Tunes, basic wireless microphone, basic mixer, Mac computer, speakers, camera, and video camera.  You will also be trained on all of these necessary skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

Wedding DJ:

Booking: The majority of weddings will be on Saturdays, most during the summer and fall.  The candidate DJ must be able to plan on average 12 months in advance.  The DJ will have the opportunity to accept or reject each wedding as the opportunity comes to Merry Laurel.  Once the wedding is accepted, via contract with Merry Laurel and the purchasing agents (bride and groom), the wedding becomes the DJ’s responsibility.

Bride Management:  For the weddings which the DJ accepts the DJ will be responsible for coordinating the song selection and agenda with the bride.  Merry Laurel will assist in this process but the DJ is primarily responsible.

The Reception: The DJ will be responsible for setting up all equipment, DJing and emceeing the wedding.  The DJ will lead dances and events including but not limited to bridal party announcements, first dances, dinner announcements, and more.

Compensation:

Paid per wedding on as a sub contractor.

Contract Terms and Conditions | Photography

Please select that you’ve read the contract terms and conditions.  Final agreement will be made as noted below.  These terms and conditions are subject to change, you must refer to the specific email from Merry Laurel Weddings upon agreement.

Terms and Conditions

Package Details:

Package: Basic, Standard, or Premium

Price: $$$

There are three parties involved in this contract:

1. Merry Laurel Weddings: The booking agent.

2. The Contracted Photographer: Actual name will be filled in during confirmation email phase of booking.

3. The Purchaser: Actual name will be filled in during the confirmation email phase of booking.

Terms of Agreement:

• Final payment should be payable to Merry Laurel Weddings and paid before the reception or the night of the reception.

• The buyer(s) agrees to supply  Contracted Photographer a minimum of 2 meals equal to the meals supplied to the guests.  This is void if there are no plans of the photographer attending the reception.

• Parties entering into this contract are permanently bound to fulfill the obligations by this agreement unless one or more of the following conditions apply:
1. All parties mutually agree to leave the agreement and its responsibilities.
2. The wedding reception described herein is completely cancelled, and a minimum of 90 days notice is given.

• In the event that the Contracted Photographer becomes unable to provide his/her services due to complications beyond the control of Merry Laurel Weddings and the said Contracted Photographer, Merry Laurel Weddings the following measures will be taken: An equal or higher qualified Merry Laurel Weddings Contracted Photographer will take the said Contracted Photographer’s place at no additional charge to the Purchaser or said Contracted Photographer based on availability.

• In the event that no contracted photographers qualified from Merry Laurel Weddings are available, Merry Laurel Weddings will pursue another reputable photography service and transfer all information pertinent to the Purchaser, and the $deposit will be refunded to the Purchaser from the said Contracted Photographer.

• Any and all information or details including but not limited to photo selections, wedding timing and information, and reception agenda, must be communicated a minimum of 30 days preceding the wedding reception.

• All photos both pre produced and post produced are the property of both the Purchaser and Merry Laurel Weddings.  Merry Laurel Weddings has full permission from the Purchaser to use photos in marketing material including but not limited to the website, Facebook, or print material.

• Merry Laurel Weddings and/or the Contracted Photographer shall not be held liable for any action arising from or in connection with any individuals not directly affiliated Merry Laurel Weddings only including Merry Laurel Weddings and directly Contracted Photographer’s from Merry Laurel Weddings.

• The Purchaser agrees to assume full responsibility for any and all damages caused by themselves or their guests involving any of the Merry Laurel Weddings or Contracted Photographer’s property including but not limited to camera(s), tripod(s), lenses, camera bags.

• Agreement to these terms and conditions is made official by the when all of the following conditions are met below in numbers 1-4.  Emailing a reply all by directly or indirectly stating “I Agree and Accept terms and conditions.” The response email serves as the electronic signature to all of the terms and conditions stated and/or implied in this contract.

1. The email is sent from Merry Laurel Weddings.

2. The Contracted Photographer replies “I Agree.”

3. The Purchaser replies “I Agree.”

4. The $300 Deposit is made by the Purchaser to Merry Laurel Weddings.

Greetings,

Thank you for booking with Merry Laurel Weddings!  Please read our agreement below and click reply all confirming that you agree to the terms by stating “I Agree” in the email.  If you need to make changes, please note them accordingly.

1. Confirm your agreement.  Once you and our DJ confirm the agreement – we will send you invoices as noted below with our mailing address.  After you send the deposit to Merry Laurel Weddings we will mail you a “Date Saved” card confirming your reception date.

2. Draft Reception Agenda.  Payments are structured the same way our planning is structured.  Before sending your second payment you should have emailed us a draft agenda.  Merry Laurel Weddings will provide suggestions to your timeline and song selections.  (Don’t worry you can change and update details later).  You can find the agenda form here under #2:  https://merrylaurel.com/plan/

Additional Hours at a rate of $100 unless negotiated otherwise with the Contracted DJ.

• Merry Laurel Weddings and/or the Contracted DJ shall not be held liable for any action arising from or in connection with any individuals not directly affiliated Merry Laurel Weddings only including Merry Laurel Weddings and directly contracted DJ’s from Merry Laurel Weddings.

• The Purchaser agrees to assume full responsibility for any and all damages caused by themselves or their guests involving any of the Merry Laurel Weddings or Contracted DJ’s property including but not limited to speakers, computer, lights, wires, and vehicle.

• Any and all information or details including but not limited to song selection, bridal party information, and reception agenda, must be communicated a minimum of 30 days preceding the wedding reception.  If the details are submitted after 30 days prior to the wedding, there is no guarantee on song selection, agenda, timing, or any other detail relating to the reception.

• The buyer(s) agrees to supply  Merry Laurel Weddings or the Contracted DJ(s) a minimum of 2 meals equal to the meals supplied to the guests.

• The buyer will provide Merry Laurel Weddings and/or the contracted DJ a 6 foot table at the wedding with two chairs.

• The purchaser gives any and all permission for Merry Laurel Weddings and/or subcontracted DJ to use photos, status updates, and videos from the contracted event online including but not limited to facebook, twitter, and the Merry Laurel webpage before during or after the event.

• Parties entering into this contract are permanently bound to fulfill the obligations by this agreement unless one or more of the following conditions apply:
1. All parties mutually agree to leave the agreement and its responsibilities.
2. The wedding reception described herein is completely cancelled, and a minimum of 90 days notice is given.

• In the event that the Contracted DJ becomes unable to provide his/her services due to complications beyond the control of Merry Laurel Weddings and the said Contracted DJ, Merry Laurel Weddings the following measures will be taken: An equal or higher qualified Merry Laurel Weddings Contracted DJ will take the said Contracted DJs place at no additional charge to the Purchaser or said Contracted DJ based on availability.

• In the event that no contracted DJs qualified from Merry Laurel Weddings are available, Merry Laurel Weddings will pursue another reputable DJ service and transfer all information pertinent to the Purchaser, and the $300 booking fee will be refunded to the Purchaser from the said Contracted DJ.

Payments*

•Upon agreement of terms: $300 installment #1 (deposit) due.

•$300 installment #2, 4 months prior to wedding date.

•Remainder of balance 1 month prior to wedding.

•All invoices will be emailed after terms and conditions are agreed upon as outlined below.

*Payment terms are flexible – if you wish to pay in different installments please propose dates and amounts of payment when you reply “I Agree.”  Payments must be paid in full prior to reception date.
